Geutebruck’s new ‘VA-Missing’ software protects exhibits in museums and galleries

Product Profile

Geutebruck's new ‘VA-Missing' software reliably detects the removal of static objects from video-monitored scenes in museums, galleries and other exhibition venues, and in some environments it also provides useful information on abandoned objects.

VA-Missing compares the current image with its own background model of the scene and checks out discrepancies for matches with freely-defined criteria such as location, duration and object size (corrected for perspective).  It avoids unwanted alarms by continually updating its background model to incorporate gradual changes - such as slow moving shadows, and by suppressing transient changes - such as those generated by passers-by.

Now available as an integrated option in new equipment or an easy upgrade for GeViScope CCTV platforms, VA-Missing can be run on any video channel irrespective of whether the image source is analogue or IP.  Separate licence activation is required for each channel.  More details available here.
