Siemens Building Technologies has created a new section of its website devoted to integrated solutions for power plants, providing useful information on how to ensure a plant's security and safety and, in doing so, maintain continuous supply of power.

Managing operational risks is fundamental to the success of any plant.  The website identifies the different areas within a power plant environment, highlighting the specific risks to address in each.  Importantly though, it demonstrates how, through adopting an integrated approach to security, fire safety and building control, the risk of disruption can be minimised and, in the event of an incident, power restored as quickly as possible.

The site also looks at the role of an intelligent approach to energy efficiency within a power plant and how low voltage power distribution can contribute to the security of the power supply.

The site has a clean, user friendly menu which allows the viewer to explore deeper with a single click to different areas within the power plant for which Siemens provides solutions, from protection of the perimeter through to the main turbine building, HVAC plant room, IT room and control rooms.

Given Siemens' extensive experience in utilities applications throughout the world, the site also offers a reference flyer, available as a download, on the newly constructed Emile Huchet Power Plant in France, to demonstrate how the integrated approach to safety and security operates in a real working environment.

The site features high definition streaming videos, providing an overview of Siemens power plant solutions and how they help to keep operations running smoothly and continue to save energy.
