Challenge

Boost security at the CKPS headquarters and deliver detailed, irrefutable evidence to more effectively meet court disclosure requirements and achieve a higher rate of conviction in the community.

Solution

Officers and administrators at the CKPS seamlessly manage the Avigilon HD Surveillance System using Avigilon Control Center network video management software (NVMS) with HD Stream Management and have installed 12 Avigilon Analogue Video Encoders to dramatically improve the performance of its existing 48 analogue cameras. The CKPS has also installed two Avigilon HD network video recorders (NVR) with automatic failover to store 30 days of continuous surveillance video with greater reliability and redundancy.

Benefits

Avigilon Control Center software's advanced functionality and superior audio/video synchronisation capabilities have dramatically improved the Police Service's ability to provide solid, high-quality evidence to the court, leading to a higher rate of conviction.

Avigilon's rich feature-set and simple management tools have enabled the Police Service to reduce the man-hours required to manage surveillance, reducing the time to search, playback, identify, and copy video to create a file for court purposes by 90 percent. Configured for automatic failover and full redundancy, the Avigilon HD Surveillance System delivers the reliability needed to ensure ongoing surveillance in the high-risk environment at the CKPS headquarters, where suspects and prisoners are monitored 24x7.

CKPS deploys Avigilon high definition surveillance system to heighten security and meet court disclosure requirements
