The deterrent benefits of video surveillance technology are well-proven, but cameras themselves are vulnerable to being disabled by criminal or other vandals. In certain high-risk environments, installers are wise to consider devices that are certified to higher levels of resiliency against physical tampering.  IK10 rated device Alongside the well-known Ingress Protection (IP) rating which describes protection against water, dust and other elements, the European standard EN 62262 (also called IK) specifies a  number of tests that define an ability to withstand assault from devices such as heavy hammers or crowbars. At the higher end of the scale, an IK10 rated device such as the MOBOTX V16 can sustain strikes from a 5kg pendulum hammer with a 20 joules level of force.
