Honeywell adds six new H.264 IP cameras to the equIP® IP Range

Honeywell has announced the addition of six IP cameras to its existing equIP® IP product series. The new true day/night cameras are split into two ranges - 1080p and 720p wide dynamic – with each range incorporating three different models; an indoor only mini dome, a vandal resistant mini dome and a box camera. A core benefit of the new IP cameras is progressive scan video which enables improved detail on moving objects such as faces and car number plates. Furthermore, dual streaming allows each video stream to be configured with an individual resolution whilst Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) results in significant storage savings without sacrificing image quality in low light. The cameras can also be fully integrated with Honeywell’s MAXPRO® NVR SE and XE 2.0 ranges to offer an efficient all Honeywell IP system. The high resolution of the 1080p cameras allows operators to digitally zoom for superior detail and to cover nearly three times the horizontal area compared with standard fixed analogue cameras, potentially reducing the number of cameras required to monitor a fixed space and lowering costs. The 1080p cameras’ superior image detail and ability to highlight small details, such as facial features, means they are suitable for installations that require enhanced detail when zooming in, and the highest possible resolution. The 720p cameras use wide dynamic technology to improve image visibility even in high contrast environments where objects are hard to identify due to severe backlight or shadows. This allows security personnel to identify subjects in challenging environments such as areas with strong back lighting or abrupt changes in illumination, or when looking from a well lit area into a darker one. The technology delivers video with near-perfect exposure in the harshest of lighting conditions enabling the operator to see recorded events more clearly for use as evidence or to inform decisions. “Successfully using IP technology to improve the quality, detail and resolution of video recording, particularly in challenging environments, is a constant focus for security manufacturers,” comments Mark Openshaw, Product Manager for Honeywell Security Group EMEA. “Helping installers and end users monitor wider areas and use video footage more effectively is driving the evolution of, and demand for IP solutions.” For more information regarding these and other Honeywell solutions, please visit www.honeywell.com/security/uk

DDF5400HDV-DN Ultraline: Dallmeier presents 4K Ultra HD camera
DDF5400HDV-DN Ultraline: Dallmeier presents 4K Ultra HD camera

With the new DDF5400HDV-DN Dallmeier presents a 4K camera with ultra HD resolution. Owing to the extremely high resolution the cameras of the Ultraline series provide even sharper images with even more details.  The DDF5400HD Ultraline camera series has been designed especially for applications requiring very high resolution images in real time. The camera is available with an integrated lens in a vandal-resistant dome housing. It can be conventionally supplied with an external power supply unit or conveniently with Power over Ethernet (PoE Class 0, IEEE 802.3af).  Ultra HD resolution The high resolution of the sensor and the sophisticated image processing enable real-time recordings with UHD resolution at a frame rate of up to 25/30 fps (2160p/30) with excellent quality. Thus, the camera is ideally suited when capturing the finest details in real time is required.  Automatic switching of presets The camera is equipped with an ambient light sensor and a removable IR cut filter and can automatically switch between day and night mode. In addition, different day and night presets for the exposure settings can be defined and adjusted.  Motor-driven varifocal lens The camera has a motor-driven megapixel varifocal lens that is perfectly tuned to the image sensor. The adjustment of zoom, focus and iris is made conveniently using a web browser. The manual lens setting directly at the installation site of the camera is not required.  Precise iris control The P-Iris control provides precise and automatic setting of the optimum aperture. Thus, the camera achieves a much better depth of field than with conventional DC auto iris lenses under almost any lighting conditions.  EdgeStorage The camera is equipped with a RAM memory that is used by the EdgeStorage function for storing the video stream in case of a network failure. When the network is restored, the SmartBackfill function ensures a fast transmission to the SMAVIA recording system. This stores the video stream with high speed and then continues the recording of the live stream seamlessly.

Outdoor-ready HDTV PTZ domes strengthen Axis’ camera offerings
Outdoor-ready HDTV PTZ domes strengthen Axis’ camera offerings

Axis Communications introduces a series of high-performance, outdoor-ready pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) domes, including two HDTV models, for demanding surveillance applications such as city surveillance, airports, harbours and outdoor stadiums."Axis' successful PTZ camera design now enables not only easy and reliable installation in demanding weather conditions, but also outstanding HDTV coverage of large areas and great detail when zooming in," says Erik Frännlid, Director of Product Management at Axis. "The new PTZ network cameras will offer customers greater choice of quality PTZ domes, with different performance and price levels to meet different installation needs."The outdoor-ready surveillance cameras range from top-of-the-line AXIS Q6034-E PTZ dome with high-speed pan/tilt performance and HDTV 720p, to AXIS P5534-E PTZ Dome, which also offers HDTV 720p, and AXIS P5532-E PTZ Domewith D1 resolution (720 x 480/576 pixels). The HDTV 720p performance of AXIS Q6034-E and AXIS P5534-E is in compliance with the SMPTE 296M standard regarding resolution, full frame rate, HDTV colour fidelity and 16:9 format. The 18x zoom in combination with the HDTV resolution on the HDTV PTZ domes provides zoomed-in views that offer not only the same level of detail as a 36x-zoom, standard resolution camera, but also the extra advantage of a wider (16:9) field of view. All three cameras have automatic day and night functionality, enabling superb image quality round the clock. The PTZ cameras provide H.264 video compression format, which greatly optimizes bandwidth and storage use without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is also supported for increased flexibility.Intelligent features offered by the AXIS P55-E Network Camera Series include the Advanced Gatekeeper functionality, which enables the cameras to automatically pan, tilt and zoom in to a pre-set position when motion is detected in a pre-defined area and return to the home position after a set time. AXIS Q6034-E's Active Gatekeeper offers a similar function, but with the added ability to follow the detected object. The auto-tracking feature in AXIS Q6034-E can also be used as an alarm trigger. The easy installation features incorporated in all three PTZ domes enable significant reduction in installation costs. They do not require an external housing since they are delivered out-of-the-box ready for installation outdoors. They have IP66 and NEMA 4X ratings for protection against water and dust, and are equipped with built-in heater, fan and sunshield. The AXIS P55-E cameras can operate in temperatures ranging from -20 °C to 50 °C (-4 °F to 122 °F). AXIS Q6034-E, meanwhile, can operate in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 50 °C (-40 °F to 122 °F) with Arctic Temperature Control, which allows the camera to not only function at -40 °C (-40 °F) but also power up at that temperature following a power failure. (more) The cameras and the mounting brackets (sold separately) are also designed with a bayonet connector, which allows the cameras to be quickly mounted to the brackets with a simple twist of the cameras into position. The PTZ domes are powered through High Power over Ethernet (High PoE), which simplifies installation since only one cable is needed for carrying power, as well as video and pan/tilt/zoom controls. With High PoE, the camera can continue to operate even during a power failure as the network can be connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply. A High PoE midspan is supplied with the cameras. With a built-in SD/SDHC memory card slot, recordings can be stored locally on all three cameras. The high-performance network cameras offer advanced network capabilities for improved security, efficiency and manageability. The new PTZ cameras are supported by the industry's largest base of video management software through the Axis Application Development Partner program as well as by AXIS Camera Station. AXIS Q6034-E, AXIS P5534-E and AXIS P5532-E will be available to order in July 2010.
