Speedway SuperAmerica LLC (SSA), a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corporation, is one of the nation's largest corporately owned and operated chains of its kind.  Following a successful pilot program in 200 stores, SSA selected the latest release of the March Networks LP Data Mining solution and expects to have the software deployed company-wide by the end of 2007.

The LP Data Mining solution will enable SSA to reduce inventory shrinkage and improve overall store and associate performance.  It includes fully customizable Point-Of-Sale transaction profiling, user-friendly investigation and reporting tools, and digital video integration.  Key software features, such as drawer alarm alerts, prepaid fuel reports and voids by type, deliver further operational efficiencies.

Intelligent data mining and exception reporting software are important elements of a retail loss prevention strategy to address the growing problem of inventory shrinkage, which annually costs U.S. retailers an estimated $42 billion.

In addition to the software rollout, SSA also has selected March Networks' Professional Services to optimize software performance at all locations.  The services include regular software diagnostics and updates managed remotely by March Networks specialists.

"The fully automated transaction analysis capabilities offered by the LP Data Mining software significantly enhance our ability to identify and investigate fraudulent activity," said Mitch Hurst, SSA's manager, Security & Loss Management.  "We expect that the combination of March Networks' software and expert professional services will help us considerably reduce inventory shrinkage once the deployment is complete."

"March Networks has developed a broad portfolio of data mining and video management solutions that support more effective operational control across a variety of retail formats," said Peter Strom, President and CEO, March Networks. "We are pleased to add Speedway SuperAmerica to the growing list of major retailers that have chosen our industry-leading solutions for loss prevention and risk management."
